Pantone Keke
What is the Pantone Scene Series?
It’s an on-going personal photography project challenging myself to create interesting, weird, and fun aesthetics using Pantone swatch postcards to match my surroundings or something in it. Check out my earlier post here, it includes more about what the Pantone color matching system is and what sparked the project.
Sometimes,
I don’t know if it’s a true color match.
Drake doesn’t know if it’s true love.
What the fxck is Keke?
Keke is a female that Drake refers to in his song In My Feelings, which was a hit last summer (and let’s be honest…an annoyance), at least in the sense of getting it stuck in your head. Ugh, that chorus.
If you know me, you know I’m a big Drake fan. This is not a favorite song though, I actually prefer his older mix tapes (So Far Gone, anyone?) when he was an emerging artist. I do like some of his new stuff, but never anything they’ll play on the radio.
In this Pantone Scene, I’m trying to match to his pink phone but these other swatches are a close match too. I’m not really sure sometimes, just like Drake and his ever changing love life *haha*. I also really like the shape and angles that the arrangement of swatches create. I bought this sticker because I really loved the colors and illustration style. It was created by Stickie Bandits – get one here!

Have you ever had just one copy of a sticker that you really liked and wanted to use it without sticking it to just one place? Try adhering to a piece of foamboard then cut it out with an X-ACTO knife. Now you’ve got a dimensional graphic that can lean/be on something. I used it here to create depth for the sticker so I could get some shadows on the right side.
